Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [OWNER LEGAL NAME / BUSINESS NAME] ("TrueCost", "we", "us"), [CITY, STATE], USA. By using TrueCost — the free calculator and the Pro tool at gettruecosts.com — you accept these terms. Support: [email protected].

1. What TrueCost is

TrueCost is a calculation tool for Etsy sellers. You enter your material costs, product recipes, and prices; TrueCost applies the Etsy fee model built into the app and shows estimated true cost, profit, and suggested prices. You may also import an Etsy orders CSV export to see estimated profit per product.

Estimates, not accounting. Results depend entirely on the numbers you enter and on the fee rates built into the app (dated in the app and maintained as described in §6). TrueCost is not accounting, bookkeeping, or tax advice, and is not a substitute for your own records or a professional adviser. Pricing and business decisions you make from its output are yours.

2. Your data stays in your browser

TrueCost has no accounts. Your workspace (materials, recipes, settings, imported-order calculations) is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We cannot see, back up, or restore it. Clearing browser data, switching browsers, or using a different device means a fresh workspace. You are responsible for keeping any records you need.

3. Free tier

The free calculator and the free tier of the tool (limited number of products and materials, as shown in the app) are provided at no charge and may be changed or withdrawn with reasonable notice.

4. Pro subscriptions, billing, and license keys

• Pro is sold as a subscription — US$13/month or US$99/year — through LemonSqueezy, which is the merchant of record for the sale and handles payment, taxes, receipts, and renewals. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled, at the price shown at checkout.
• On purchase, LemonSqueezy issues a license key. Entering the key in the app unlocks Pro on that browser. One key may be activated on up to 3 of your own devices/browsers. Keys are personal to the purchaser: do not share, sell, or publish them. We may deactivate keys that are shared or misused.
• Cancellation ends the key. You can cancel any time through the link in your LemonSqueezy receipt or by emailing [email protected]. When a subscription is cancelled or lapses, the license key becomes inactive at the end of its paid/activated state as reported by LemonSqueezy, and the app returns to the free tier on its next license check (checks repeat about every 24 hours of use). Cancellation does not delete your workspace data, which remains in your browser and remains usable within free-tier limits.
• Prices may change for future billing periods; changes will be notified through LemonSqueezy before they take effect on an existing subscription, and you may cancel before a changed price applies.

5. Refunds

We offer a 14-day, no-questions refund on a first subscription purchase — email [email protected]. Renewals are refundable within 7 days of the renewal charge if the tool was not materially used in the new period. Purchases made through AppSumo are governed by AppSumo's refund terms (including its 60-day guarantee) instead of this section.

6. Fee rates and availability

The built-in Etsy fee rates are verified when the app ships and checked periodically, but Etsy may change its fees at any time without notice to us. The rates in the app are dated; if you spot a discrepancy, email us and we will correct it. We aim to keep the service available and correct but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation — the tool runs in your browser, so a downloaded/cached copy may continue to work offline with its last-saved data.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to bypass the license system, resell or redistribute the app or keys, use the service for unlawful purposes, or interfere with the service's operation. AppSumo lifetime-deal access, where offered, is governed by these terms plus the deal terms shown on AppSumo at purchase.

8. Intellectual property

The TrueCost app, calculator, text, and design are owned by us and licensed to you for your own business use under these terms. Your data remains yours.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or pricing decisions made using the tool's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], USA. We may update these terms; the current version will be posted at this URL, and continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of it. Material changes to billing terms apply only as described in §4.
