Privacy Policy

TrueCost ("we", "us") is a cost-and-profit calculator for Etsy sellers, operated by [OWNER LEGAL NAME / BUSINESS NAME], [CITY, STATE], USA. Support contact: [email protected].

This policy describes what information TrueCost does and does not collect. The short version: TrueCost has no accounts and no server copy of your shop data. Your materials, products and order calculations are stored only in your own browser.

1. Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

TrueCost runs entirely in your web browser. The following are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and are never transmitted to us:

• Your materials library, product recipes, settings, and any results calculated from them.
• If you import an Etsy orders CSV, the calculations produced from it. The file itself is read in your browser and is not uploaded anywhere.
• Your license key and its activation record, so the app can remember that this browser is unlocked.

Clearing your browser's site data deletes all of the above permanently. Because we never receive this data, we cannot recover it for you, and uninstalling/clearing means starting fresh — this is the trade-off of the no-account design, and it is deliberate.

2. Information processed by LemonSqueezy (payments and licensing)

Purchases, subscriptions and license keys are handled by LemonSqueezy (Link, LLC / Lemon Squeezy LLC), which acts as the merchant of record for TrueCost sales. We never see or store your payment card details.

• When you buy, LemonSqueezy collects the information needed to process the payment and your subscription (such as name, email address, billing country and payment details) under LemonSqueezy's own privacy policy.
• When you activate or re-check a license key, the TrueCost app sends your license key — and, on activation, a device label — from your browser to LemonSqueezy's license API, which returns the key's status. This check repeats periodically (about every 24 hours of use) so that a cancelled subscription stops unlocking the app. No shop data, materials, recipes or order information is ever included in these requests.
• We receive from LemonSqueezy the order and subscription records needed to run the business (e.g. your email address, plan, subscription status, and purchase history), and use them only for providing the service, support, refunds, and tax/accounting compliance.

3. Support email

If you email support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them only to answer you and improve the product. Support correspondence is kept in the support mailbox ([email protected], provided by Google Gmail) for as long as needed for support and business records.

4. What we do NOT do

• No user accounts, passwords, or sign-in data.
• No upload of your Etsy data: TrueCost never asks for your Etsy login and has no access to your Etsy shop.
• No sale of personal information.
• No advertising trackers in the app.

5. Cookies

TrueCost does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The product uses browser local storage (described in §1) rather than cookies to remember your workspace and license. LemonSqueezy's checkout pages, hosted by LemonSqueezy, may use their own cookies under their policy.

6. Who we share information with

Only the processors needed to operate: LemonSqueezy (payments, subscriptions, license validation) and Google (support email hosting). We may disclose information if required by law.

7. Your choices

• Your shop data: delete it any time by clearing site data in your browser; it exists nowhere else.
• Your purchase records: to access or delete personal information held about your purchase, email [email protected]. Note that some records must be retained for tax and accounting law.

8. Children

TrueCost is a business tool intended for sellers aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the current version will always be posted at this URL with its revision date. Material changes affecting purchases will also be noted in the product.
